Dear Clients and Employees:

Partners for Home’s current Pandemic Position is included below. As more facts become available, our Pandemic Plan can be expected to evolve. Our ultimate goal is to:

– Create a safe working environment for Employees and Clients;

– Comply with public health guidelines and regulations;

– Provide continued support of clients in light of existing conditions

As you are no doubt aware, our community is preparing for a potential COVID-19 outbreak. Partners for Home is preparing for this possibility and we wanted to reach out to you, our Employees and Clients to keep you informed.

You must contact your Partners for Home team leader immediately, if any of the below bullets apply to you:

  • You have in the last 14 days travelled internationally (including the United States) or will be retuning from international travel.
  • You have had any close contact (within 6 feet) of individuals, such as family members or friends, with flu-like symptoms who have travelled internationally within 14 days prior to becoming sick.
  • You are exhibiting symptoms of the coronavirus.
  • You have come into contact with someone who has been exposed to the coronavirus.

As an extended measure of safety, please ensure that you avoid unnecessary human contact. This means limiting physical contact where possible i.e. shaking hands or body contact that is not required for home care services. Where human contact is required, you must thoroughly wash hands before and after and we encourage Clients to provide latex gloves as an added precaution. Any Employee who feels sick or is exhibiting flu-like symptoms, will be required to stay at home and must notify us immediately.

We ask our Employees and Clients to ensure your home contact information (home phone, mobile and home email) are up-to-date. This will assist us in the event we need to contact you in an emergency.

With the World Health Organization declaring Coronavirus a pandemic and the impact within Canada still being relatively recent, we do not know yet the full impact this may have on Canadians and thus our Employees. While we hope to minimize any service interruption, we will of course always put safety as the top priority for our Clients and Employees. Depending on how COVID-19 truly impacts Manitoba, there is a possibility where we may not be able to guarantee service. Partners for Home Management is working actively on ways to mitigate this, and we ask that both Clients and Employees provide as much advance notification to any shift changes to help us minimize any service impacts.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we introduce these measures. We know this situation is unsettling and challenging. Your safety is of the utmost importance to us. We will continue to monitor the situation closely, and keep you updated on developments and the actions that Partners for Home is taking to protect our workplaces for everyone. It’s times like this our people first culture really shines through and when I’m especially proud of the way we take care of each other and our Clients. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to call me directly.

NB – Any person concerned about their exposure to or risk of having COVID-19 should first call Health Links-Info Sante at 204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257 (toll-free) to ensure they receive medical advice appropriate to their specific health concerns.

Thank you
